Undoubtedly, Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion dominated the charts in 2020 with their hit song, “WAP.” The single was huge, even catching the eyes of politicians when it first debuted in August 2020. The lyrics represent women’s sexuality and how they want men to please them.

The song’s lyrics became the most searched in Google in 2020. It broke the record for the biggest 24-hour debut for an all-female collaboration on YouTube.

Even with all the song’s success and popularity, can you believe that the collab almost didn’t happen?

Cardi B has just revealed she was too shy to speak with Megan for almost a year.

“Megan came out, and for like a whole year, I never interacted with her because I was like, I don’t know,”

Cardi said while on iHeartRadio Presents SeeHer Hear Her: Celebrating Women in Music.

“I’m too shy and everything. I feel like other artists are shy, too. Should I be cool with her? I don’t know if she likes me.”

“It’s always about breaking the ice and always having a conversation and catching somebody at the right time. We linked up, and she’s just such a good vibe.” Cardi continued. She mentioned that this weekend, she’ll be rooting for Megan at the Grammys as the H-town Hottie is up for four nominations in categories, including Best New Artist and Best Rap Song.

As Megan racks up her nominations, Cardi is set to perform at Grammys and Doja Cat, DaBaby, Roddy Ricch, and others.
