Cassie releases “DPIS” Video
Cassie is far from cautious in her new music video “Don’t Play It Safe” Directed by Life Garland. It has been a while since she released music, but she is BACK! Teddy Bears, Jellyfish, and Tigers, OH MY. The visual features a lot of special effects. One of which, included a rainbow flying above Cassie. Soon, she was lounging around tigers, hummingbirds then swimming with jellyfish and stingrays. The video is very sensual.
“Don’t Play It Safe” includes production from Kaytranada, who is set to release more new music with Cassie soon. “Kay and I have been working on this project for a while now,” she said. “I look forward to everyone hearing what we have in store. He just gets me,” she said in a statement according to Fader.
The fantasy driven visual follows her self-titled short film, which was released in October along with her “Love a Loser” video featuring G-Eazy. Cassie is planning to drop more new tracks in the coming months.
“Hard to tell if you wanna stay/Don’t need an invitation/For moves I want you to make/Coy but, boy, be sure, don’t you wait/Swear I want you the same way/Boy, I’ll give you the ring,” she sings on the first verse.
Cassie has previously said that working with Kaytranada on new music has elevated her sound.
“I wanted to do something different from a regular music video, which I still have,” she said on TRL.
