Chanel is breaking new ground and this time with a treasured friend. It has been announced that the fashion and beauty brand will open its first spa at what will be the newly remodeled Ritz Carlton in Paris towards the end of this year. This is a special location for the brand, as the originator herself, Coco Chanel stayed at this hotel for 34 years and rightfully has a suite, the Coco Chanel Suite, named after her. It has even been said that the bottle for fragrance, Chanel No. 5 was inspired by the buildings in Place Vendôme where the Ritz resides.
The Ritz Paris has been closed and undergoing renovations since July 2012. The spa will debut with the re-opening of the hotel, and will appropriately be titled, ‘Chanel au Ritz Paris’ meaning Chanel at The Ritz Paris.
The brand has been a leader in fashion for decades, and has also come to be known as one of the leaders in skin care and beauty as well. Chanel reps have said though that the spa will mostly focus on skincare, and allow clients to experience the top selling line of skin care products the brand has developed.
I’m sure getting in with The Ritz during the renovation was a strategic decision, allowing Chanel to really personalize their spa in structure and decor and make it cohesive to The Ritz brand and their iconic relationship with one another. This will undoubtedly become a place to visit and swoon over.
