Jay Z New Champagne $760 A Bottle

Is it safe to say that nearly every celebrity now has a liquor deal? Whether you’re promoting liquor as the owner or endorsing it as a bottle boy, the liquor brand game pours out a lot of cash. It’s no surprise why Jay Z would want to stop rapping about other brand’s fine wines and produce his own.

Rap mogul, Jay Z paired up with Cattier Champagne House to create the newest member of the “Ace of Spades” lineup, called “the blanc de noirs”. A lot of people are wondering why is his champagne so pricy charging $760.00 a bottle ? Are we paying for the name or quality wine? Well, it’s a little bit of both.

Armand de Brignac, popularly known as “Ace of Spades”, receives their wine from the Cattier Champagne house in France who has been stomping grapes since 1763. The royal bottle design for the entire “Ace of Spades” line was created by Andre Courreges who is also partially responsible for creating the mini skirt. Quality wine should also be preserved which is why the opaque bottle is “wrapped in translucent yellow cellophane to protect the wine inside against ultraviolet rays and bright light.”

Although I’m not sure why it would need protection from the nightclub’s bright lights, if the Chief Executive of the Armand de Brignac brand plans to market the new champagne as an exclusive line. Sebastian Besson, Chief Executive of Armand de Brignac,  says “ the brand doesn’t really plan to pour them in Jay Z’s 40/40 Clubs—or create an ostentatious 30-liter Midas bottling weighing 100 pounds…” Less than 3,000 bottles of the 100% pinot noir champagne will be released. So for all those lucky customers who do get a chance to sip on Jay Z’s wine, make sure to purchase a tulip-shaped glass and cherish every sip.
