Fetty Wap has been blowing up ever since his smash hit “Trap Queen” debuted in 2014. He now has four singles on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart, “679,” “My Way”, “Again”, and “Trap Queen” at No. 2. The Patterson rapper returned to his city yesterday for the first time since his career took off to perform at a free back-to-school concert. 1,200 Patterson High School students were given free tickets to attend the concert at Bauerle Field, while; those who didn’t fit the high school demographic watched from the streets.

Although Fetty Wap did not finish high school, the mayor of Paterson, Jose Torres, made it a point to praise the rapper as “an inspiration to Paterson’s youth…” He then proceeded to present Willie “Fetty Wap” Maxwell II with a key to Paterson, NJ.

The students and the mayor danced along as Fetty and his crew, The Remy Boyz and RGF Productions (Real Good Fellaz), performed some of the top hits of the summer bringing out special guest, French Montana to perform his hits as well. By the end of the performance, everyone seemed to have enjoyed themselves and each student was given a free bag of school supplies to start the year off just right.
