We all know celebs make a lot of money! But, just how much is a lot? Forbes breaks it down in its annual “Highest Paid Celebrities” list for 2015.
Athletes raked in more this year than their Hollywood counterparts. Three out of the top 10 play games for a living! Holding the top two spots are boxing aficionados Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquio. Mayweather broke the record for most earned by an athlete by brining in a whopping $300M. The title was previously held by Tiger Woods who earned $118M in 2008. Pacquio, coming in at number 2, made just over half that amount collecting $160M. At number 10, soccer super star Cristiano Rinaldo brought in a cool $79.5M.
A familiar face to the list comes in at number 9. Singer-songwriter, Taylor Swift, hit many milestones last year. She released her top-selling album, 1989 which was 1 of only 3 albums that went platinum in 2014. She officially made her transition from country to all pop and she spoke out for all musical artists by pulling her music from Spotify. She’s shaking her way to the bank with $80M.
How would you like to travel around the world, sing and dance, all while hanging out with your best friends? That’s what the guys of One Direction have done for the past year with over 74 tour dates and record sales, earning them the $130M collectively.
Other notables in the Top Ten include Katy Perry at number 3 bringing in $135M and author James Patterson at number 7 cashing in $89M.
