After seven seasons, Nene Leakes has announced that she will be leaving “Real Housewives of Atlanta“. In a statement to People magazine on Monday, June 29, the reality star revealed that she would not be returning to the reality show for its eighth season. Leakes is the last remaining original member on the Atlanta series, which started back in 2008.
“This was definitely a hard decision for me,” Leakes tells PEOPLE. “Me and my husband Gregg Leakes have been going back and forth on it for weeks now. But my contract is up and I just think this is the right time. This is my opportunity to spread my wings and do different things.”
This won’t be the last we see of the former RHOA star, NeNe Leakes is working on new ventures. She recently teamed up with Kim Kardashian, making an appearance in the “Kim Kardashian: Hollywood” game. Also there will be a Bravo spinoff coming soon with her and Kim Zolciak called “The Road To Riches“. Now according to E! Online, NeNe teams up with legend Betty White and Anthony Anderson for a show called “To Tell the Truth”, which is a game show revival that will be heading to ABC. The show will feature three panelists asking questions of three different contestants: two of them are liars and one of them really did make the invention, discovery or what have you.
