#DramaAlert: Taylor Swift – Nicki Minaj Twitter Drama Got Everybody Talking!

Apparently, Nicki Minaj isn’t feeling this year’s MTV Video Music Awards nominations. Despite receiving three nods for the pending awards in August, Nicki took MTV to task on Twitter yesterday, insinuating that her video for “Anaconda” would have received a nomination for Video of the Year had the clip been dropped by a “different ‘kind’ of artist” with “very slim bodies.”

It’s unclear exactly who Nicki was referring to, but pop star Taylor Swift took the tweet as a personal shot fired across her bow, and promptly hollered back at her.

Whoa, Taylor… pump your breaks, ma! Nicki immediately fired back at Taylor, insisting that her tweet was NOT directed at the “Bad Blood” star.

Whether Nicki was referring to Taylor Swift or not, her suggestion that thicker women of color play second rank to thinner white women when it comes to VMA nominations is clear. Case in point: her mega-video with Beyoncé for “Feeling Myself” received no nomination at all, despite its widespread fan popularity.

Nevertheless, Taylor tweeted that she invites Nicki on stage with her should the pop star win Video of the Year. Don’t be surprised if Nicki accepts her invitation, and pulls a Kanye West-stlye interruption on Taylor just for fun.
