TIMBALAND ANNOUNCES THE RELEASE OF NEW AALIYAH MATERIAL
It’s been over a decade since the death of R&B’s Princess, Aaliyah Haughton, and the truth is, she left a major void in the entertainment industry. Not only do fans continue to mourn her death, but her friends in the music industry as well. It’s no secret that her closest friends Missy Elliott and Timbaland never really got over their loss, and for a long time, neither of them could really talk about her death in public.
Well now it looks like we all have something to look forward to, thanks to Timbaland. The super producer recently made an announcement via Instagram that pretty much guarantees that new music is on the way.
With a photo of Aaliyah’s face in the clouds, he wrote, “Attention!!!!! People ask me all the time do I have any babegirl music we haven’t heard !!!!!well the answer is YES!!!!!!!! TIMBO x BABEGIRL !!!!! Sneak peak coming !!!!!!!”
The Haughton family has been very protective over Aaliyah’s legacy since she passed and understandably so. They’ve stopped a lot of people from using Aaliyah’s vocals over the years. Though that’s true, something tells me things will be different with Timbaland. They seem to really trust him, and I’m sure he discussed everything with them before making the announcement. Like Tim said back in 2013, when Chris Brown used Aaliyah’s vocals on his song ‘Don’t Think They Know,’ the reality is, “Aaliyah music only work with its soulmate, which is me.”
