ChoMbae‘s latest two-track project, After The Party, is an R&B-embed masterpiece that makes listeners yearn for another record. Clocking in at 5 minutes, After The Party explores the feelings that ChoMbae has for a special lady. But at the same time, he’s not looking to be tied down. While pursuing her, the singer finds himself in the heat of the moment, expressing how he wants to enjoy every second they spend together. From intimate encounters to just vibing together, it’s apparent that their feelings are strong and genuine. Vocally, the artist possesses a register that’s ethereal and slightly mirrors Tory Lanez’s.
“Not Mine” finds the singer-songwriter speaking about a rendezvous between himself and the one he adores. Using a storytelling cadence, he explains how the two ended up linking up.
Shawty out of town/Hit me up/Tell me where you at?/I’m in LA, I’m in LA/What you on? Why don’t you pull up on me, baby what’s up?
Afterward, he gets straight to the point, saying that he’s not looking for anything long-term right now. Although there’s no need to put a label on things, he reassures the woman that they’ve got something special.
The independent artist sings, “I see right through. That’s why you need me in your life.” Secondly, he communicates, “So bring good vibes, vibes forever/i’ll keep my feels away.”
The song features K Tonez, who assists with the chorus.
“Late Night” is a dark, intimate, soul offering that depicts what a fun outing consists of. With the special lady by his side, ChoMbae explains that they can do anything their heart desires after hours.
He also takes the time to express his admiration for her, saying, “Ain’t talking Meg Thee Stallion, but she a big ol’ freak.”
From kicking it at the club to taking a midnight stroll, he says that he’s going to take care of her regardless. As long as they’re together, anything is possible.
In closing,
“The Ethiopian heartthrob has found his niche on the Pop and R&B scene and has continued to feed his audience with new music periodically, which kicked off with his debut project Skars in October 2018. He continues to bring that flare for his latest offerings found on After the Party.“
