UFC fight ended up with Connor McGregor hospitalized
During the UFC fight on July 10, Conor McGregor broke his leg. The accident took place during the first round of the fight. Conor had been hospitalized and later reported “Onwards and upwards” in the video on Twitter.
Before the fight, Conor stated he would “kill this man [Dustin Poirier].” He was also leaving remarks regarding Poirier’s wife. Conor claimed Jolie Poirier “in my DMs!” and then offered her to “hit [McGregor] back up.” Jolie left the octagon with her family while flipping off McGregor as he was lying with a broken leg. While lying with a broken leg, Conor also threatened to come and kill Poiriers “in their sleep.”
In the post-fight interview, Poirier told MMA Junkie that “Conor said some nasty stuff.” However, Poirier also wished well to Conor’s family: “even that stuff being said, I don’t wish serious harm like that on nobody. The guy’s got, kids. I want him to go home safe to his family. I pray before these fights.”
Khabib Nurmagomedov couldn’t resist but comment on the event. On Twitter, he shared wisdom and told his audience that “Good always defeats evil.” He also congratulated Poirier. Unfortunately, Khabib remained silent and didn’t specify the side of dualism he represents.
