DaBaby was set to defend himself against a 2020 incident resulting in battery allegations. Many sources are now reporting on December the 1st; the battery case against DaBaby was thrown out “with prejudice”.

So, with this in his rearview, he’s now got one less problem.

The Case Against DaBaby

In 2020 a driver claimed the rapper assaulted him. According to pagesix.com, DaBaby’s lawyer contends that the hip hop performer admitted to no wrongdoing and was ready to take the issue to court. However, due to the recent decision, the burden of proving his case no longer hangs over his head.

What Does “With Prejudice” Mean?

Not only did a judge throw out the case but went one step further. According to The Source, the case against DaBaby, real name Jonathan Lyndale Kirk III, was dismissed with prejudice, meaning it’s resolved and won’t be revisited in the future.

So, it’s a wrap!

And DaBaby can breathe a sigh of relief with one hurdle well behind him.

2021 for DaBaby

Hopefully, there is nothing but blue skies ahead for the artist. Because unfortunately, he hasn’t exactly been on easy street. Kirk has found himself under a lot of pressure this year. He’s been playing defense left and right. Can anyone say full-court press?

Without a doubt, he brought some of it on himself. His actions and fallout from comments made at Rolling Loud almost threatened his career.  In addition, strife between him and his baby’s mother had him calling the police for protection from alleged abuse against his person.

A Lot to Deal With

What matters is he’s trying to make better steps from now on. He’s been doing what he can to smooth out some of the bumps in the road. As The Source notes, DaBaby did everything required of him regarding the battery case. As noted,

“’Ball If I Want To’” rhymer obliged to every request made by the prosecution, which included paying the driver 75-hundred-dollars and staying out of trouble in 2021.”

He even made an active and earnest attempt to smooth things over with the LBTQIA+ Community after the Rolling Out Loud Festival fiasco. As Pagesix notes,

“The groups [LBTQIA+] said in a joint statement that DaBaby “swiftly answered” their call and joined them in a “meaningful dialogue.”

Maybe this is a sign of better things to come.
