Growing up “daddy less”

#HipHop4Her: Daddy less Daughters

The trend of “daddy less daughters” is one that doesn’t seem to die out. It continues to be an overlooked issue in society. The concern is focused on the sons and how it will affect them on their path to manhood. But being father less whether it is by separation or death has a huge affect on women.

The first relationship a girl has with the opposite sex is with her father. The father is there to teach their daughters about self worth and what constitutes as a good man. But without this, a woman can experience trust issues, promiscuity and look to fill that hole the father left in their hearts.

A lot of times, this is the reason why relationships fail with good men, because there is no knowledge of how/what a good man is. Instead of being a victim of being daddy less, face it and let it go.

This post isn’t geared towards the fathers who left. But to the women who were raised without them and flourished. Kudos to US.
