Dionne Warwick is Cardi B’s Newest Fan
Cardi B has officially caught Dionne Warwick’s eye. Warwick has taken a liking to Twitter as she brings fans along her journey of exploring popular culture and modern hip hop. In a recent tweet, she writes, “After today, I can confidently add ‘Cardi B’ to the list of people my niece has opened my eyes to. More on this tomorrow.” Unprompted but enjoyed by everyone, Dionne’s tweets about her discovery of other modern artists have been hilarious. So hilarious that SNL did a skit on them.
Cardi B seemed honored at the mention and responded “I STAN” We all do Cardi. We all do.
As promised, the next day Warwick took to Twitter again to explain why she loves Cardi. “Cardi B is authentically herself,” Warwick later explained, but added: “I have only seen video clips. No music yet.” She also later explains, “”I did not listen to Cardi B’s music. Brittani sent me a video on the YouTube and a clip from her show where she dances with the very effervescent @msdebbieallen!” The video that Dionne was referring to was from Cardi’s new show: Cardi Tries.
Dionne’s funny personality comes out as she also comments on Cardi’s partner, Offset. “I do have one question. What does Offset mean?” Warwick quipped. “Is there also an Onset walking around somewhere?”
