Dua Lipa Collaborates With DaBaby For “Levitating” Remix

Dua Lipa (@dualipa) has come out with her second “Levitating” remix, this time featuring DaBaby (@dababy) for a spicy switch-up from her normal pop wave. She first announced DaBaby’s involvement by posting a snippet of the music video on her Instagram, captioned “GET READY 4 BLAST OFF”. Earlier in the year she collaborated with The Black Madonna to make the first “Levitating” remix.

Warren Fu, known for his work with Daft Punk, The Weeknd, and more, directed the music video. The video features the singers dancing and rollerblading around a giant disco-themed elevator. Fu creates a celestial vibe in the video to match the song, and as the song continues, more people join the club and the elevator ascends into outer space.

Over 150,000 TikTok users aided in the creation of the video by submitting videos in response to a “challenge” to help conceive the video’s image. Ideas taken from the videos include makeup looks, original dance moves, and several TikTokers dancing in the video. The video already has over 4 million views.

DaBaby starts the song with a new intro, “Billboard Baby, Dua Lipa make ’em dance when it come on/Everybody lookin’ for a dance floor to run on”. He also takes charge of Verse 2 and helps her sing the chorus later in the song.

Dua Lipa released Future Nostalgia in March, followed by her remix album Club Future Nostalgia with The Black Madonna in August. The remix album features musicians like Blackpink and Gwen Stefani, and includes remixes by Mr. Fingers, Larry Heard, and Jada G, among others.

Comparatively, DaBaby released his latest album Blame It On Baby earlier this year. The rapper also featured in Saweetie’s newest single ‘Tap in’ alongside Post Malone and Jack Harlow.
