Rapper E-40 opens up about his admiration for Kendrick Lamar

Bay Area Rapper E-40, best known for songs such as “Snap Yo Fingers” and “You and That,” shared his thoughts on Kendrick Lamar during an interview with Hip-Hop DX. He mentions one of the most significant shout-outs he ever received was from Kendrick Lamar’s song called “Money trees”.

He also talks about meeting and touring with Kendrick back in 2010 and supporting Kendrick Lamar’s relationship with ‘Top Dog’ and other team members such as JayRock.

The Bay Area Rapper noticed how much Kendrick supported Jay-Rock on stage during performances and mentions “Team-work makes the Dreamwork” and “To see Kendrick blossom and not Jay Rock hating on him,” which is the reason why TDE is so successful today.

E-40 felt Kendrick Lamar was a star the first time he heard him rap. He also spoke out on how talented he Kendrick is.

“He was cold on that microphone,” he said. “He might seem quiet, but that muthafucka’s got hella character to him. He knew how to act and all. You seen him in Power, when he played the dope fiend dude. He was woke. He was ganged up. You know what I’m saying?”

Lamar’s last album, “Damn” debuted in 2017. It’s been a while since we heard any talks of music from him. Hopefully, Kendrick will surprise us with another album and possibly a collab with Jay Rock and E-40.
