The family of Stephen “Zumbi” Gaines still wants answers. He died while at Atla Bates Hospital, California. The Bay Area native was getting treatment for COVID-19. Gaines allegedly got the virus while at his last concert in Nevada on July 24.

The family also stated after Zumbi’s passing,
“It is with utter disbelief and great sadness that the Gaines family shares the news of the passing of Steve’ Zumbi’ Gaines on Friday, August 13, 2021. “
The San Francisco Chronicle reports Zumbi allegedly got into a fight at the hospital. Lt. Melanie Turner of the Berkeley Police Department also gave a statement. The police reports state that a patient had gotten physical with the nurses and security personnel.
The authorities responded at 5:16. They subdued Zumbi. In fact, the officers handcuffed the person and began emergency care. The authorities then pronounced him dead.
As a result, the family launched their own investigation. It is still underway.
“My son (Zumbi) did not die from COVID. My son did not die from a heart attack. We are waiting for the Berkeley police to complete their homicide investigation. They say their delay is caused by not completing a coroner’s report. I beg the officials to complete their official duties.”
