Did Megan Thee Stallion's Label Sign a "Copycat" ? | FMHipHop.com

Megan thee Stallion has an ongoing court battle with her record label, 1501 Certified Entertainment, now fans seem to think they are trying to recreate her by signing a “copycat” to the label.

Back in March, the rapper made headlines after her Instagram live explained her reasoning for suing her label.

“All I did was ask to renegotiate my contract, then it became a whole big thing. When I signed, I didn’t really know what was in my contract. I was young. I think I was like…20, and I ain’t know everything that was in my contract,” Megan said earlier this year. “Now they are telling a bitch that she can’t drop no music. It’s really just  a greedy game.”

News broke early Wednesday that the CEO of her record label, Carl Crawford, signed a new artist, Erica Banks. A clip of the new rapper freestyling went viral, and many fans quickly drew parallels between Banks and Megan.

Rap flow to adlibs, from the surface, there seem to be many similarities.

Notably,  rapper CupcakKe took to twitter to respond stating, “She sounds exactly like Megan, that’s weird.” Others defended Banks by saying that’s simply a Texas sound.

Megan does not seem pressed at all, she’s living her best life. Dying her hair rainbow colors and hanging out with friends at the pride march in West Hollywood on Sunday. We see you, Megan!

Erica banks, on the other hand, took to Twitter to let us know she peeped the controversy.

What do you think, is Erica Banks a “copycat” of Miss Megan? Let us know.
