#FMSportsTalk: Tiger Woods Wins First Major since 2008

The Redemption of Tiger Woods

First of all, Let’s give a shoutout to the month of April. With the NBA Playoffs beginning and 95% of the world watching Game of Thrones; Tiger Woods put himself in the spotlight. The legendary golfer was in a different place ten years ago. A cheating/sex scandal nearly destroyed Tiger’s image and made him a walking punchline for society. His body would later betray him as he had countless surgeries to his back and knees. Many thought Tiger would never win another major again. Last Sunday, he was on the prowl and won his first major since 2008 and his first Masters since 2005.

The Comeback of Tiger Woods

We as society love a good comeback story. Tiger Woods in the good, bad, and the ugly will be the face of golf. Golf has its true core fan base who watch for the other guys, but the casual fan is watching to see Tiger win. Lately the casual fans will sneak a gander to see if he is in contention for the league and then tune in. Injuries slowed him down. He had a spinal fusion surgery that prevented him from picking up a golf club for 6 months.

Did Tiger Woods Have the Greatest Comeback Ever?

The Greatest Comeback ever seen by me happened in 2016 when the Cleveland Cavilers came back down 3-1 to beat the Golden State Warriors in 7 games. Tiger Woods personally could have the greatest comeback ever.  After all he has been through with scandals, arrests, and injuries.  Tiger can say he had the greatest comeback ever. No one was expecting him to win. He hadn’t won in 11 years and didn’t win at the Masters since 2005. I was 14 years old the last time he won a major. Let’s hope he kicks off the Comeback tour and win another one.
