Rick Ross is calling a Spade a Spade in the Idols become Rivals Video Release

Rick Ross released his Idols become Rivals video last Tuesday off of his Rather you than me album which was released earlier this year. The song stirred up a lot a controversy from the time of the album release once the track came out it was made clear that Ross was calling out Cash Money Records CEO Baby ‘Birdman” Williams for his disloyalty to his various artist. Rick Ross has been very vocal at coming to the defense of his rap cohorts that he states have never been paid by Baby. The video for Rivals features Bangladesh who produced the hit record “A Milli” for Lil Wayne which is arguably the record that rocketed Wayne’s career to his current level of success; allegedly he was not paid for his work. Lil’ Wayne who has been very vocal in expressing his frustration publicly while dealing with legal issues with Baby, was not the first person that was dissatisfied with the exchange of monies (or lack thereof) with Baby but for most was the most shocking.

The Video displays a lavish look into Ross’s Multi-Million dollar home/ranch which was once owned by Boxing legend Evander Holyfield. The display of the home and cars may come off as Ross being braggadocios but the opening seen with a Minister preaching questioning “Are you going to trust in God or are you going to trust in Cash Money? Are going trust in God or are you going to trust in the gold chains…, chasing the Cash Money sometimes your idols become your rivals” set the tone for the entire video which was directed by Ryan Snyder, and the message is crystal clear!
