Singer, songwriter, and rapper, Amine gained commercial success with his debut single “Caroline”. It gained so much traction he performed it on The Tonight Show in late 2016. The performance has accumulated over 4.5 million views and the single peaked at #11 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart. Amine made headlines after his Fallon performance when he made some bold political statements. At the end of his song he rapped “you can never make America great again, all you ever did was make this country hate again”. He then released his debut album Good For You which sold 13,000 copies just within the first week.
Now, the Portland native is back and better than ever with the music video for his single ” Blackjack”. The video is set in a high school while he and his crew wear typical school uniforms. It gives off a “too cool for school” vibe with a hint of comedy. The video also features the comedian and internet star, Rickey Thompson. This is not the first time Thompson has made a cameo in the rapper’s music video. The video is such a home run, even Amine’s mother approves of it!
