Kony Brooks Chases the Throne

Bronx native Kony Brooks will be on your radar soon. His name (K.O.N.Y) stands for King Of New York. That might alarm and offend some, but he wears the title in a respectful manner. I often combine sports and music, scouting Kony as a rapper he would be equivalent to the Power Forward who can play inside and out to go along with superb ball handling and defense. Kony is probably one of the most versatile rappers I ever heard. New Yorkers want something from the essence listen to “Rough” featuring Mickey Factz. You want socially conscience record listen to “3 Fifths”. His song “We Ballers” featuring Teddy Grahams should be in NBA 2K20 and played all sporting arenas. “One Night Stand” featuring JR JustReal is the theme for lustful late-night messages to set up all the antics. Kony Brooks can deliver any song in any situation.

What’s Next for Kony Brooks?

Kony Brooks is currently working on a documentary called “Chase The Throne.” He had a cameraman follow him during the rollout for his album All Hail the King leading up to his concert. Kony founded his own independent label called ICMG(Inner City Music Group)/2 Deep in 2013 with Teddy Grahams. The duo had a single called “Work Wit” at the time. Both of them had artists at the time and decided to team up because the chemistry felt right. Kony Brooks is also apart of another ensemble called the Thot Boys. It started as inside joke but eventually a record called Thot Boy. The Thot Boys have a project coming out. There is no release date for it yet. Kony, along with label, is using 2019 to build and expand.
