For a while, Saweetie was falsely accused of having beef with Cardi B, and now the “Icy” rapstress is here to set the record straight. This news surfaced when Cardi B released her song “Up.” Immediately, fans noticed that she used one of Saweetie’s catchphrase in the song, which is “I know that’s right.” That’s when fans began to wonder why she omitted Saweetie in the track.
In Cardi’s defense, including Saweetie in the song slipped her mind because she was rushing its release. But this wasn’t convincing enough for ICY GRL die-hards. They assumed the worst, saying there was beef between the two successful femcees. If anything, they expected Cardi B and Saweetie were close because they both are in a relationship with two members who are apart of The Migos.
Saweetie put all speculations to rest during her time on The Breakfast Club. According to The Source, she stated:
“Yeah, our teams have definitely been talking. I think we’re just kinda waiting for that right record.”
She also said, “I think the media just likes to take things out of context. I’m loving how women artists are starting to realize that sometimes it’s the media that creates something that’s not there. I think it just shows mature and it shows growth amongst me and my peers to not be affected by what the media says.”
