Fresh off the heels of his 7-track effort, Complications II, singer-songwriter Dr. Maleek is back with a summery, pop/hip-hop infused track, “Slide (feat. Bino Rideaux & MVRWVN).” This track comes at the perfect time, being that the hot season is right around the corner. 

“This single with Bino Rideaux was a dope vibe, something where we were able to mesh different styles together and make a great summer record,” says Dr. Maleek. “Both being from the West Coast, it was just great to have him on this track, great melodies and overall dope vibe he really embodies the marathon Nipsey mentality.”

Lyrically, the duo gets symbolically struck by Cupid’s arrow as they speak about attending to a love interest’s needs. In a honeyed register, Dr. Maleek delivers in the chorus, “Do you wanna slide with me? Just tell me where you want to go. I’ll have the whip waiting.” Additionally, he sings, “Just let me know, and I’ma slide on you.“

Bino Rideaux uses a clear-cut, bouncy cadence to speak about the women who changed his life for the better. The rapper’s goal is to show her that he’s the real deal. There’s no leading her astray. As his verse continues, OUTSIDE curator drops bars about his work ethic and reveals why he must sustain his hustle mentality. “I got brothers. I got bills. I won’t sit still.”

Overall, the two aim to please their special lady. They think the world of her.
