Fresh off his EP, WAV.Y BABY STORY, Drok has officially dropped an eye-catching visual for his song “Double Back.” The music video, shot byFILM SHOOTERS MEDIA, finds Drok and two women projected over a white backdrop. The scenes transition from Drok and one special gal donning tan attire to Drok wearing black clothes with another special gal. When Drok and these beauties make certain movements, they also create colorful 3D-like shadows. In summary, the video represents the flow of the relationships.
About the song’s meaning, Drok says
“‘Double Back’ was inspired by those people that we’ve dealt with in the past that we wouldn’t mind going one more round with. I just wanted to play in that scenario in a light-hearted way cause it happens to all of us.”
In “Double Back,” the New Jersey-based rapper opens up about a past lover’s deceit but expresses how he’s willing to give her a chance. The beat, produced by T ZILLA, is a feel-good trap/pop offering.
Initially, Drok was mesmerized by a one-in-a-million kind of woman. But, soon, he figures out her twisted motives. Drok’s high level of self-love adheres to his worth. And so, he bids farewell to any situation or person that doesn’t agree with this concept.
Using a singsong flow, he spits
“Shawty got the head off me/Now she tryna get some bread off me/Damn I been moving with the scooter/Now she gone cause I had to remove her.”
After, the “SOPRANOS” musician tells his lover how honesty really is the best policy. He also unveils why they had to split up.
He follows his value system, saying, “I had to go/I had to tell her good riddance.”
While things between them went left, Drok wouldn’t hesitate to “Double Back.”
