Compton, native justrob. has officially dropped his first-ever single titled “3below.”
“With everything I do, I want to create something that people can resonate with to open their hearts and emotions to this beautiful, tragic life,” said justRob. “I wrote this song during a time where I wasn’t emotionally available or committed to the girl I was seeing. This [“3below”] is my way of showing I’m a little more mature and ready to share my side of the story.”
justrob. is an R&B/pop musician who uses emotional vulnerability to drive his lyrics. In turn, he makes fans feel less alone during their path of self-discovery and self-healing. Outside of music, he’s studied acting under one of the world’s leading acting coaches, Ivana Chubbuck. Additionally, justrob. dabbles in songwriting, producing, and fashion.
“3below” is a xylophone-led R&B offering that finds justrob. laying his cards on the table and unveiling how he really feels about a failing relationship. “Truth of the matter is that we never belonged girl/she looking me dead in my eyes, she seein’ the truth/my lack of commitment is showing, I’m tellin’ the truth.” he delivers.
As the song continues, justrob. explains to his former lover why he decided to step out on her, saying, “I need validation, I got all these needs and girl I hope you understand.” He also details his inner thoughts about the whole ordeal.
Once the second verse comes in, the multihyphenate artist iterates that he just can’t be tied down at the moment. Furthermore, he confesses why his heart “is so cold, 3 Below 0.” Before the song ends, justrob. vows never to go back to that toxic cycle that he was in with his previous lover.
Aside from the soundscape, “3below” carries a heavy-bass and other playful arrangements.
