With all the restrictions that COVID-19 has brought, it feels almost impossible to see the silver lining. Because of the pandemic, our entire world has shifted. What once was seen as an everyday activity is now a privilege to do. Luckily, justrob. understands the predicament we’re facing and sonically takes us on a much-needed “Vacay” in his new song.
“Vacay” can be compared to a love ballad. Over wave crash-type sound loops and the calm R&B/hip-hop instrumental, justrob. expresses his infatuation for a woman he doesn’t mind giving his time to. Also, he describes a moment where the two are soaking up the sun, good vibes, and beautiful scenery. He matches this energy with a honeyed register.
He sings, “She got sauce and the wave/Mexico mexico Mexico/she got the screen saver saved.” Secondly, justRob delivers, “I do not answer my phone-na/It’s just me and you/My focus on you/Give my time with youuuu.”
As the song continues, justrob. shows exactly why he’s head over heels for his Mrs.
He says, “You such a vibe (yea)” along with “She got that four season comfort it’s like we in Thailand when we on the sofa,”
Overall, there’s no place he’d rather be than with her. Every moment they share feels like a getaway.
