#FMSpotlight: Keviyon – “Your Love” (Listen)

Keviyon dropped a summer jam that’s guaranteed to dominate charts titled “Your Love.” The feel-good R&B track exudes a nostalgic vibe, pairing a lively guitar and piano. Additionally, as others have vocalized, “Your Love” is the perfect skate song. Moreover, it serves as a dance anthem. The chorus alone is enough to have one hooked!

About the message behind “Your Love,” Keviyon says:

“This song represents being comfortable with your sexuality to love whoever you desire at the moment freely. I hope to continue to push the narrative that we are all one and should focus more on loving each other than finding ways to divide us as a community and as a human race.”

From a lyrical perspective, listeners find Keviyon living in the moment. Tapping into a velvety register and a strong suit of confidence, he expresses the highlight to an unforgettable night with good company.

Tell the DJ run it back one time/I just wanna rock your body right/Tequila on the rocks no lime.”

After, he delivers this significant line through the chorus, “Stop playing girl, stop playing boy. Let me love you tonight.”

This excerpt follows the saying, “love is love.” It doesn’t matter what your sexual orientation is.

As the song progresses, he lays down some rhymes. Directed towards the one who’s captivated his heart, Keviyon admits to being in awe of them for a while.

It don’t really matter ’cause you’ve always been mine/Always been fine like the cherry red wine.”

If they’re looking to get away, the singer-songwriter says they can travel the world together. There’s no hidden agenda behind these plans. He’s a natural lover.

Towards the end, he instructs others to bring themselves to the dance floor. Subsequently, he gives a breakdown of what dance moves to do. This step-by-step is helpful for those (like me) who are a little off on coordination.
