Project Asteri signee, Lokanais widely known for her enthralling vocal renditions to popular songs on YouTube. To date she’s showcased her airy, passionate range over Beyonce’s “Halo,” Lady Gaga’s “Paparazzi,” and Ella Eyre’s “We Don’t Have To Take Our Clothes Off,” to name a few. This time, Lokana has released her first-ever single called “Ride Or Die.” The track was written by Lokana, Sadye, and NicoTheOwl, who assisted with the production as well.
Lokana‘s newest song, “Ride Or Die,” is a bubblegum pop offering that allows her to express how she feels for a man who, according to the lyrics, hasn’t got his act together.
“You say I have my expectations, but you leavin’ me on read, I’m losing patience,” she sings.
Elsewhere, Lokana taps into a honeyed range to declare that she’s moving on for good. The songstress has done everything in her power to make it work, but the feeling wasn’t reciprocated. Because she knows her worth, Lokana refuses to settle for less. No amount of tears will keep her around for the long haul. If he can’t commit, then he isn’t the one for her.
“When you see how loyal I was to you, you’ll wish you treated me right,” she delivers in the pre-chorus.
Before the song closes, Lokana leaves a P.S.A for her former lover:
“Baby dry your eyes, stop with all the crying. Couldn’t get it right. So get a life.”
