K Triggz comes in hot with wisdom and tenacity on Max Cyrus’ EP, The Uprise. Omar LyefookMBE sets the tone with a soulful, projective range. Overall, the project’s themes explore societal issues, Triggz’s indefatigability in the music business, and how they jump through hoops to gain accreditation.
Sonically, Max Cyrus merges lofi, R&B, and jazz elements. As a result, the project gives off a calm and collected tone while giving the musicians room to say their pieces.
Songs like “Mirrors,” “Land of The Blind,” and “Blind Treason” shed light on Triggz’s opponent’s inability to be at his level, upbringing/come up, and the new morals individuals have (sadly) adapted.
“The Uprise Intro” highlights Triggz’s lyrical dexterity. Regardless of his traction, he plans on applying pressure in the hip-hop game.
Giving insight on what it’s like to be a new artist in the industry, he spits lines like, “When you do it big there’s photos/When you gonna struggle, there’s no shows.”
Additionally, Triggz raps, “No attendance/No promos/No looking like GoPro/Reaching for a trust I’m so close/That’s life I’ma treat it like Rose Gold.“
The rest of the song dissects his clever metaphors. Additionally, we hear his knack for rhyming, and how the music charts are his for the taking.
