RJAE ‘s “4 I Go” is dedicated to a woman he can’t imagine his life without. Over the piano-centric R&B production, the New Orleans-based musician promises to treat her like the queen she is. Although her heart has been bruised and battered by previous lovers, he intends to heal all her wounds. RJAE ultimately vows to be there for her through thick and thin.
He opens up about how he really feels towards her, saying
“My life before you was a play, you changed the scenery (Yeah, scenery)/You just don’t know how much you mean to me (Yeah)/Even though you damaged, I won’t take advantage (Yeah).”
The rapper admits to being mistreated previously, reassuring her through bars that she isn’t going to deal with that type of hurt again. Because of this commonality, RJAE knows how to handle her heart with care.
The “First Time Lovin” lyricist follows this sweet sentiment with more vulnerability. His emotionally-driven bars delve into what he hopes for their present and future. They’ll come out even stronger as long as they work through the pain together.
He sings, “I used to pray I found the one, now I’m makin’ songs about you/And you know I ain’t perfect, but I think that you worth it/Need to work on our love and our trust but trust me, I’m working yeah, yeah.”
The track gains inspiration from one of RJAE’s past love interests. He shares that this person was healing from a heartbreak during their time together.
