Rjae

New Orleans-born rapper and singer, Rjae expresses how he wants that old thing back with a former lover in “First Time Lovin.” He follows up with words of devotion, saying mid-chorus, “You make it seem like I’m the only/Got you feeling this way.” In hindsight, he wants a happily ever after with a woman he’s never stopped loving. The emerging star uses raw lyrics over a pop-influenced trap beat.

As the song progresses, Rjae delves into rapping. First, he speaks about his crushes’ love interest, suggesting that they will leave once they get what they want. After, Rjae speaks on the current generation and how they view love, dating, etc. He advises his sweetheart to be wary of who she lays with.

He raps, “Real love don’t come from the heart now/Think about it/If you love/Gotta move smart now.”

Then, the “Amen” musician informs his soon-to-be-lady that she must look beneath the surface. After all, not everything is what it seems. He cares way too much to see her get hurt.

Finally, Rjae says that he loves this special lady for what’s on the inside. He isn’t concerned about jumping her bones. He creds his mother for his respectfulness. All he asks is for this lady to give him a chance. If she continues rejecting him, he’ll be on his way.

He spits, “I’ve been trying to get you to myself/But your stubbornness doesn’t help/It gone put your love on the shelf.

“First Time Lovin” comes off the heels of “Jigga Flow,” which finds Rjae in his philosophical rap bag. In short, the artist raps about being the king of his generation. The lyrics showcase Rjae’s endless grind to make it to the top. Not to mention, listeners get a feel of his career ascension.

One notable line goes, “I could probably make an album and go platinum with ease/A hundred thou on features/This is actual fees.”
