Hip-hop artist Troy Good‘s newest release, “Let It Rain,” is a trap symphony offering, blending a lush piano loop with kick-snares, hi-hats, and shimmery arrangements. Lyrically, the Colorado-based musician explains why he’s no longer accessible to certain individuals. Troy Good also vocalizes what he’s witnessed throughout the years.
In the second verse, he delivers these transparent bars.
“You can’t match my pain, I seen them suicides, I seen like babies die, I don’t wanna go inside/I just let rain flood like sewer pipes/This shit degrading/Its a battle homie do or die/Last time I’m gon worry bout the gang/I sent my bro a Cash App now he actin like I changed.”
Elsewhere in the song, the “Throwing Shade” musician addresses the facades that people throw on to look tough, warning others not to test him. Given all this, he intends to put himself first.
He spits,
“Pussy boy don’t got my back okay then run it back/I use my real name troy good don’t gotta act/I realized that I don’t need this and I never needed that/Every single person hatin now I see them by the trash/That 9-5 it ain’t the way, suite and tie and shake/You were chose to never make it/I was chose to the lead way.”
Cadence-wise, he delivers in a passionate singsong range.
