On Aug 21 Ace Hood made his long awaited return to the rap game proving that there is still life after We the Best. One thing that has always set Ace Hood apart from your average rap star, has been his level of vulnerability. A member of the survival music upper class man along with Big Sean and Kendrick, music with a message comes a long way with so much going on in the world. It can’t always be about the cars and money when real life situations consume your thoughts. I’m sure everyone loves a good club hit, but Ace like most of the elite squad of Light workers in Hip Hop tend to make music for the under-served ; that is why this sound is needed.

With Hit after hit under his belt Out here grinding, Lord Knows, Hustle Hard, and Bugatti.Ace Hood definitely has a catalog worth mentioning. With the recent success of the self proclaimed Music Mogul DJ Khaled plenty of people were curious as to where Ace was and why he and Khaled were no longer working together. On his latest release Ace addresses his departure from We the Best but makes it clear that its all love between him and his former friend DJ Khaled.
On the track titled “The Interlude” Ace says “Parting ways from the whole We The Best thing I had a different vision, I seen something larger for myself You know, we weren’t necessarily seeing eye-to-eye on some things So I decided to do my own thing It’s not what you go through, it’s how you go through it And I think that I chose to deal with this with grace.”
Speaking on his “Ego Trip” and his “Passion” for his purpose Ace shows how his love for helping others through his own pain while sharing his truths he has begun his own healing process, how dope is that! It’s all about the being the best version of yourself. In life you have to “Play to Win” and most importantly Trust the Process!
“No I don’t play to lose No i don’t pick and choose Sometime you win some Sometimes you lose. (sometimes you lose) Sometimes I can’t get right Most times I do (sometimes I do) ‘Cuz sometimes you win some Sometimes you lose But we just gon’ get right back up (eh) That’s not quite like us, (eh) Y’all ain’t built like us, (eh) Know in god I trust The Nation”
