A$AP Mob Is Captivating Hip Hop Heads With New “Feel So Good” Video
One of the most visionary and stylish Harlem collective came out with a new music video last week. “Feel So Good” was released August 15th via A$AP Mob‘s YouTube VEVO channel. The visual masterpiece, directed by Hidji Films, has a 1996 to 1998 vibe, reminiscent of collectives like the Pharcyde, A Tribe Called Quest, and vintage Black Eyed Peas (before Fergie, of course).
Some might say you might feel a modern day Wu-Tang vibe from this. The video is pretty simple, but yet not your average “Thugs with no shirt on, while rhyming in the middle of the street” cliche video. Far from it. Anything A$AP Mob creates is visually balanced and always enriched with paid homage. The video is a montage of different hip hop crew elements. These elements include dope rhymes, vibe worthy rhythms, the lyricist and popular of the group (A$AP Rocky), the young bulls (A$AP Twelvyy and A$AP Ant) and of course the wild and crazy one everyone loves (A$AP Ferg). You feel every last element in this video.
White back drops, studio lighting equipment, as well as a blurred 90s perception captured by the director’s lens, “Feel So Good” makes the beholder of this optical work of art do exactly what its title proclaims.
If you are a real hip hop head that misses the rugged formula of rhyming and reason, mixed with nostalgic styles and fashion, this video was definitely created for you. A$AP Mob was always doing next level entertainment, but this one is a new height. Not to mention, the collective have been on the vintage hip hop wave lately, since the release of A$AP Ferg‘s 2013 banger “Shabba Ranks“, and the most recent “Strapped” by A$AP Twelvyy. Rest in Paradise A$AP Yams.
