Lloyd Banks Proves He Is The Punch Line King
The Punch Line King, Mr. PLK, is back to take his rightful position in the game. G-Unit soldier Lloyd Banks came back with his new banger “Overload“, produced by Q Will, released five days ago. The South Side Jamaica, Queens-bred emcee brings us the classic Blue Hefner, with bars over bars. From letting us know how he will “body bag all the newcomers” to his elaborated and prosperous lifestyle, the Rotten Apple rapper spits lyrics that will definitely show both current and new rappers that their time is up. With bars like:
“…Rappers in the mortuary, don’t get to draw I’m deadly/
Victim files are more than plenty, bring on the semi, uh!/
Ferragamo no colors, my s**t designer all the time/
Benji dollar my covers, I’m fit for commas, born to bomb/
Hand me all the newcomers I body bag ’em, mow the lawn/
Every time it’s a homi, shotty, magnum, forty-five..”
Its no wonder the Hunger For More lyricist is a threat to many of these so-called rappers. This track features a classic money machine sound in the beginning, reminiscent to his previous intros on past albums. Banks let us know he is not going anywhere.
The classic boom bap, mixed with deadly snares and dramatic horns gives us that “walking-down-Foch-Boulevard-in-Southside-Jamaica-Queens-with-tan-butters-at-night” essence. A week ago, the self-proclaimed Punchline King hinted to fans and audiences of coming back lyrically strong, like he never left. Banks appeared on Hot 97‘s “Freestyles On Flex” segment, hosted by Hot 97‘s own veteran DJ Funkmaster Flex. PLK made headlines when his bars started focusing on certain new rappers, subliminally.(Click here to see the video, courtesy of Hot 97 YouTube Channel)
This hot freestyle was just a catalyst to this track, introducing fans and more to the artist who obviously still has a Hunger For More!
