Mulan V adds new twist to classic single
Multifaceted artist and businesswoman Mulan V will drop her newest single, “I Got 5 On It,” on June 22. The ear-catching single samples Luniz’s hood classic of the same name, instantly drawing the listener in. The original “I Got 5 On It” quickly became a hit when it dropped in 1995, largely due to the vocals of Michael Marshall on the hook. By using the Timex Social Club singer’s vocals on her 2017 release, Mulan V channels that same energy– making a first-time listen even more memorable.
While the “riding high” theme carries over from the original release, this reincarnation sees Mulan V giving props to her man for being about his business and treating her as his queen. A newly released music video for the upcoming single features exotic cars, jewelry, weed, and furs, with plenty of sex appeal and partying to boot. It’s all in a day’s work for the Freestyle Records Inc. rapper and singer, who has shared stages with Snoop Dogg, 2 Chainz, and other stars.
In addition to her talents as an artist and actress, the Los Angeles native is the founder of Mulan V Beauty, offering premium hair extensions, cosmetics, styling products, and more at affordable prices. While successful in her online business, it is performing she is most passionate about. “Being on stage is like being at home in my comfortable space; it’s fulfilling and natural,” she says in a press release. “I am convinced that I am destined to entertain, and it is a part of my fiber and being.”
