A Debate That Left Many Angry Left Frank Ocean With A Voter Registration Initiative
Tuesday’s debate did not leave any side of the political spectrum happy, including Frank Ocean. The presidential debate had an unprecedented level of chaos and volume. The time for a platform, particularly for Joe Biden who couldn’t speak without interruption, almost didn’t exist. The hostility from president Trump in constant attacks led to an all but ineffective and remarkably stressful debate. Trump’s approval rates continue to plummet after his inability to condemn White supremacy and global warming in the debate.
Frank Ocean, a generational icon, is famous for little to no presence in the limelight, an enjoyer of his privacy. However, after Tuesday’s debate, it was clear Ocean felt the demand to speak out. The result after the end of the debate felt dismal and Ocean captured that. He took to his instagram story to make a statement shortly after.
Ocean stressed the importance of the american right to vote. The visible distraught and fear from Biden supporters was palpable after the debate and Ocean stressed the only solution would be to use votes.
Ocean has switched his famous Blonded website into an easy source for Voter Registration. Using the source, Vote.Org, the number one online voter resource, the link brings visitors to a form for registering. Ocean has large platform and cult following and is choosing to use it for good. The source is a wonderful tool to prevent any voter suppression from an overcomplicated registration process, helping especially with the suppression of the young and POC voters. Once again Ocean has resurfaced temporarily for a remarkable contribution.
