Freddie Gibbs is a songwriter and rapper. He is best known for his gangsta rap style and lyrical ability.
Freddie steps into a new lane in director Diego Ongaro’s film “Down With the King.” He plays Mercury Maxwell who is a famous rapper that goes by the name of Money Merc. The premise of the film is Merc discovers his distance from his musical desires in exchange for a more domestic life farm.
The cast includes Lovecraft Country actor Jamie Neumann, David Krumholtz, Sharon Washington of Joker, and Bob Tarasuk. ‘Down with The King’ is produced by Zach LeBeau and original music from Freddie will be included in the film. In a statement Lebeau said,
“Down with The King’ represents Breaker Studios’ commitment to conscientious filmmaking focused on breaking down the walls of ignorance in pursuit of truth, unity and higher awareness.”
A release date and trailer for the film have yet to be announced. More news to come.
