Apple Set to Compete w/ Spotify and Pandora
Apple is now jumping into the online music streaming industry in competition with already established Spotify and Pandora as well as struggling Tidal. Apple announced yesterday during the Worldwide Developer’s Conference that they will be launching a new service, Apple Music’s Connect, set to debut on June 30.
The new service will provide 24/7 music playlists, much like their competitors. The monthly subscription fee would be $9.99 with a three month free trial. Also Apple will offer a family plan for $14.99.
Apple’s Music Service , Connect, doesn’t appear to offer anything different than other music streaming services. In fact, they will not offer an ad-supported free version like Spotify and Pandora.
What they do have is rapper Drake’s endorsement of the new company along with Toronto singer The Weeknd. Both artists attended the conference to extend their support. Drake also confirmed that he will be releasing his upcoming album exclusively through Apple Music.
