#FreshJuice: #NewMusic Dej Loaf and Lil Durk – My Beyoncè! (Listen)

Lil Durk and Dej Loaf style and finesse

with their new record “My Beyoncè”.

My Beyoncè

When discussing “IT” couples in hip-hop, Durk and Dej just might make their way into the conversation. Last month, Lil Durk himself confirmed ongoing allegations that he and Dej Loaf of Detroit were together (like…a couple). With the release of this new track, “My Beyoncè”, people are using it to either decode a myth or to bear witness to real love unfolding in the industry. It seems like a sincere gesture of love. Regardless if it’s a pub stunt or not, the music itself does the situation justice. Durk is one of the more underrated rapper/singer hybrids, so hearing him pump out this tune is dope in itself. The hook sounds like it comes from a ‘codeine consciousness’ and gives off a great ‘ghetto-in-love’ type of vibe. This just might be the cuffing season official anthem (if there is such a record).

Dej throws down with her familiarly melodic ensemble of bars as she addresses her love affair with Durk. This is evident with lines like “Durk and Dej, I’m thinking about changing my last name”. This track will be part of Lil Durks next project 300 Days 300 Nights.

Quotable Lyrics:This ain’t what he want, I told him thatLeave your girl, be through with thatGet with DeJ, he ain’t ever goin’ backHe was yours when I seen him, now he smileHeard a few rumors but they ain’t my styleI be hatin’ when he out of townHotel, I FaceTime you, no towel.
