“Carlito” is a bit darker and more street oriented than RHQ’s last project. His last mixtape “Royal Rich” focused more on melodies and growing a fan base. But this time around it seems like Quan is going back to the mud and getting ‘gritty on em’. The track is produced by Goose. Goose has been credited for his work on past RHQ tapes as well as Young Thugs prior projects. Added to his resume now is also Young Thugs latest mixtape, Slime Season 2.
“Carlito” has a old Rich Homie Quan sound. Refreshing to those who weren’t fans of his dancing or his swag on “RoyalRich”. This songs instrumentation has trap vibes and cowbells along with crazy drum patterns and reverse crash symbols. The energy of this song is hype but Quan manages to keep it hood. Quan’s official release of his debut album haven’t been disclosed, but hopefully it will contain hit after hit like his first few projects. Who knows, maybe even Goose will handle a major part of the production end. For more info, stay tuned into Fmhiphop.com!
