When you read interviews with Iman, you understand how she has managed to remain a relevant legend in the game. Her real and down to earth attitude and perspective are refreshing, and she can be open about insecurities that she’s faced, with all the confidence she has developed over the years. She seems incredibly secure in who she is and what she’s done throughout her career, not basing it off other’s opinions of her, but her experience with life since it started in Somali.

If you can believe it, the super model, among being a list of other things, a mother, designer, and owner of cosmetics brand IMAN, turns 60 July 25th. She’s still gracing the cover of magazines, this time it’s Vanity Fair Italia. In the cover interview, she speaks on some of the benefits of becoming older, “What I do not care what others say. I no longer have a duty to pleasure as when I was young. And so I can dare more, much more, because I know I’ve earned that right. Because I know it does not matter if someone does not like what I say or do. ”

25 years strong with her third husband, David Bowie, Iman seems to have figured out how to maintain what others could easily see as a high-maintainece life. She has two daughters, one 37 years old from a past marriage, and a 15 year old with current husband, David and divides her life between mostly New York and London. The spread is beautiful and features a sharp striking short bob and bangs on Iman and resembles a soft asian theme in some shots.
