Bay Area rapper and chart topper G-Eazy has released his latest album These Things Happen Too. The album serves as a sequel to his 2014 hit album These Things Happen.

Gerald Gillum (G-Eazy) announced the new album back in early September with a video entitled “The Announcement”.  In the video, Eazy walks into the studio, acknowledges that “it’s been a long time” and gives a drop date of September 24th. Sure enough, here we are. The 19-track album comes packed  with the noted names. Featured on the album are the likes of Lil Wayne, YG, E-40, and Ty Dolla $ign.

Prior to this, Eazy released two singles, each packing star power. Last February, he dropped “Provide” featuring Chris Brown and Mark Morrison. The single reached No. 64 on the Billboard Top 100. A week ago, Eazy released the Happen Too single “Breakdown” featuring Demi Lovato, and appeared alongside her in the music video, directed by Daniel CZ.

These Things Happen Too is a return to the rap world for G-Eazy. His last major project, The Beautiful & Damned, came out in 2017. Since then, he has released the odd single here and there with rappers like Tyga and Gunna. Indeed, the Twitter world has been responding to the latest album:

Not so Eazy

However, the release of the album comes amid a time of controversy for G-Eazy.

Nine days ago, (September 13) the rapper was arrested in NYC on assault charges stemming from a lounge-room brawl.

The incident occurred at the Boom Boom Room lounge. Allegedly, Gerald entered a VIP section of the lounge that was reserved by the Lacoste clothing company. He allegedly refused to leave, and a fight broke out. Punches were thrown and a bottle might have been broken over someone’s head. Things got so intense that the fighters took things outside, spilling onto the sidewalk. Someone may even have been taken to the hospital for stitches. In the end, G-Eazy was booked and charged with a misdemeanor. He is to appear in Manhattan Criminal Court on October 1.
