Some scary news out of California has surfaced.

Golfing legend Tiger Woods was involved in a single-vehicle roll-over accident this morning. Woods was driving early Tuesday morning when his vehicle rolled over Rolling Hills Estates and Rancho Palos Verdes’ border. Thankfully, the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department was able to free him from the damaged vehicle.

“The vehicle was traveling northbound on Hawthorne Boulevard, at Blackhorse Road, when it crashed. The vehicle sustained major damage,” officials confirmed.

The 45-year-old golfer was transported to Harbor UCLA Medical Center after being freed. He suffered multiple moderate to critical leg injuries and has been in surgery since.

Tiger’s agent, Mark Steinberg, recently confirmed that his injuries were not life-threatening. The crash happened at around 7 am this morning. The LASD responded to the call for the roll-over accident. The story is still developing with recent updates.

It was revealed that Woods was staying at a hotel for production on a major network television show. According to TMZ, the director arrived just before 7 am when he saw Woods driving his SUV very fast, leaving the property. Woods allegedly almost hit the director’s car as he was going. The director was shaken up about the incident and told the production crew what happened. A crew member mentioned Woods was “agitated and impatient” as there was a driving delay before taking off.

LASD did not do a sobriety test at the scene, and law enforcement confirmed Woods was alert enough at the location, as he asked first responders to have his manager pick up his stuff. Further investigation has also revealed that Woods crossed onto the road’s wrong side before the roll-over crash.

“It’s kind of a downhill grade, and there are some winding turns, as well,” said Capt. James Powers. “It crossed the center median and went up the curb on the other side of the road, and it overturned into some shrubs.”

More updates to come.
