Cole Had A “Heart to Heart”

Cole recently appeared on Kevin Hart’s talk show “Hart to Heart.” In the 45-minute episode, the artist kicked back and shared some deeper details of his life, touching on aspects of his career and family life.

One thing that rang clear was J. Cole’s drive and direction. Even as the artist engaged Hart in a convo regarding his B-ball pursuits, Cole’s focus was clear. No matter what Cole’s objective is, he is a goal-setter, has a vision for the future, and works towards that. That aligns perfectly with one of the sentiments the “Crooked Smile” artist once shared:

“I’m not gonna be bad at anything, and I want to actually be the best at anything I’m doing. So if I’m playing basketball or taking the SATs, like, there’s a competitive spirit behind it. ”

Cole & His Money

Cole didn’t merely talk generalizations; he went on to dive further into other critical aspects of his life, like business sense. In that regard, he was earnest. While the performer didn’t see himself as a businessman, he acknowledged that he kept it smart when it came to his money. But that fiscal intelligence found its roots in fear. As Cole told Hart 34 minutes into the discourse, the fear results from the fact that the artist “never wants to be broke again.”

And thus, J. Cole makes his money moves accordingly. However, that does not mean the artist is frugal; he is rather mindful. Cole spends it where and when it is necessary.

A Real Laid-Back Dude

The tone of J. Cole’s “Hart to Heart” interview reflected who he is in a laid-back manner. Cole sat in a relaxed pose, casually following the conversational flow.

Although some may wonder how that is given his success for J. Cole, it’s no real secret. He’s a dude that keeps a lot sacred. Cole prioritizes those things that are most important. Much of that is because of the parameters he has set for his life. As mentioned in the artist’s discourse, he keeps it smooth sailing by setting boundaries in various areas. And then, J. Cole adapts meditative practice to strengthen his mindset and keep his craft pure.

Who Is J. Cole

J. Cole is the stage name for rap artist extraordinaire, Jermaine Lamarr Cole. Cole, a native of North Carolina, has been in the game since 2007. His debut project, “The Come Up,” set the artist on his path to greatness.

Along the way, Cole has released 4 studio albums, 2 of which debuted at number one. J. Cole’s presence in the industry goes deeper than performance artistry. Cole is also credited as the developer of Dreamville Records. And even beyond that, the artist is known as a philanthropist who founded the Dreamville Foundation, helping urban youth in need.

Cole’s segment of “Hart to Heart” was a true meeting of hearts and minds. And viewers who tuned in learned quite a bit about J. Cole. It’s nice to know that some artists are genuine in character and action. J. Cole is exemplary in this fashion. So for those who missed the episode, it is currently streaming on Peacock.
