Majora Carter, a recipient of a grant from Beyonce’s foundation, is over the moon. A grant from Bey helped Carter push forward, serving the needs of her community. Majora Carter’s café is a convergence point where community and hip hop intertwine, giving her customers a rich and memorable experience. She has undoubtedly poured every bit of passion for her culture and community into that coffee shop. That has not gone without recognition. And quite a few legends have blessed the café with their presence,

“The café has been visited by many Bronx legends, including DJ Kool Herc and Fab Five Freddy.”

Bey’s donations were right on time.

According to a source, Carter was feeling the weight of maintaining operations during the early days of the pandemic. In fact, the shop had a brief period of closure. And it was not long before Carter was thinking that shutting the doors of the coffee shop would be a real possibility. But when she least expected it, Beyonce’s foundation came through. And Carter had this to say,

“And then I got a beautiful little love letter from my hero.”

As a result of Bey’s generosity through her foundation, Carter received a $10,000.00 grant.

Bey has a heart for paying it forward.

The only thing larger than Bey’s image and acclaim would be her passion for philanthropy. On record, Beyonce is known to have contributed to at least 37 charities and 33 causes. And that is aside from her foundation, BeyGOOD, which she set up in 2014 out of a heartfelt desire.

Bey and her equally enterprising husband Jay-Z are undoubtedly hip hop royalty at their finest.

But their riches run a whole lot deeper than the bling and the countless finer things. They have a richness of heart that shines brighter than 1,000 suns, and that’s something worth emulating and celebrating.

According to Carter, Beyonce has yet to visit the Hip Hop Coffee Shop. But she is hoping that Bey will take the opportunity to stop by soon and maybe have a Grand Master Frappe or another equally delectable offering. The rest of us are just happy to see the preservation of another African-American enterprise, especially one that uplifts the heart and soul of the Culture.
