All women have Eve to thank, for allowing us to have our menstrual. For some it’s a walk in the park and for others it’s a function sent from hell. Women dread the days that they’re on their period, and fear the days when it hasn’t arrived on time. It’s the epitome of a love-hate a relationship. The idea that your insides are shedding disgusts most couldn’t there be another way for women to shed their uterine lining besides that! Along with our monthly visit of “Flo” her friends have the pleasure of accompanying her.

Not all women (the lucky ones) experience PMS. Others experience headaches, bloat, killer cramps, nausea, diarrhea, and the list can go on. Let’s not forget how our period affects our emotions, and the cravings we experience. Cravings and crankiness aren’t as bad as the other PMS symptoms women face. If you know your “period week” is one from hell, there are ways you can fight back.

If your first day is your worst day, doctors usually recommend taking pills that help with some symptoms like cramps and bloat. Midol and Pamprin are good pills to take for your period since they both help with cramps and bloat. Some women use Diurex that helps with just bloat. The best way to fight any type of menstrual pain is to take the pills the night before or hours before you expect your period.

So if you know that your period comes every Tuesday in the morning, taking a pill like Midol before bed will spare you the pain the next day. Sometimes this may not always work, since there are times a women’s period likes to come out of nowhere. If the cramps just attack, then a heating pad can help ease the pain, as well as drinking warm water or tea. Chamomile tea really helps since this tea is used to relax and soothe muscles. There are some women who are actually horny during their period, so don’t be afraid to use your toys in the shower. Having an orgasm also helps to ease cramps. That’s a win-win.

When you’re feeling nauseous eating peppermints can help with that. Since tea helps with cramps it would be wise to help yourself to some peppermint tea to kill two birds with one stone. The reason why women experience nausea is due to the changes in hormonal levels during this time. This also causes women to have diarrhea, to battle diarrhea during your period you should try taking Imodium to prevent or slow down the diarrhea.

Oftentimes women just settle for the pill, because it makes period symptoms less harsh or it eliminates the period all together. If you’re looking to decrease the pain by almost 60 percent then definitely talk to your doctor about starting the birth control pill. If you rather stick it out then trying some of these tips will help with temporary relief.
