Let’s add “Smart Shopper” to that Girl Scouts Sash
Shopping smart should be put on the list of the “hardest things to do,” along with applying the perfect eyeliner wing. It’s hard to look at the price of clothes, shoes and accessories when everything is just a must! We have all had the urge to buy everything we like, inside stores like Forever 21, H&M, Zara, and Top shop. And when there’s a sale, we just forget about the budget we just placed on ourselves.
When shopping it’s good to keep in mind what exactly you need compared to what you want. If you’re going outfit shopping for girl’s night, don’t end up buying something that has nothing to do with that outfit. The less money spent, the better for the wallet.
Buying something on the top of your “want” list can remind you that you’ve been working so hard for. Buy exclusive items or items that would be hard to find later is another smart way to shop. So if the opportunity arises, forget everything else and pounce on it. It may be there today and gone tomorrow.
Start looking at the price of items. If that one piece is going to break the wallet leave it where it belongs. Don’t sacrifice more than half of what’s in your bank account for one thing. Be smart, if you can buy way more for the price of one, then it’s probably not worth it.
This will leave more room to buy what you need and other things you want. There are a few exceptions of course. Learning to be a savvy smart shopper, will put a smile on your wallet and less clothes in the “Why did I even buy this?” pile.
