Iggy Azalea Can’t Seem to Catch A Break!
Iggy Azalea has been having a lot of negativity surrounding her after being called a racist to now being called a homophobe. Just last month Iggy was forced to cancel her ‘Great Escape’ tour for reasons she insisted were due to “ a different creative change of heart” and needed a “break”, but clearly ticket sales for her concert were already set up for disaster.
Now Iggy is under fire for a series of homophobic and racist tweets she posted in 2011 which has forced her to cancel her headline set at the Pittsburgh Pride festival.
The tweets, which have since been deleted, said “Just saw 5 black men get arrested out the front of popeyes. #damn #stereotypes” and “When guys whisper in each others ears I always think its kinda homo”.
Iggy said the tweets were posted only for her friends and family to see. She has now extended a more formal apology in a statement saying:
“I am a firm believer in equality. Unfortunately in the past as a young person, I used words I should not have”.
“The last thing I want is for something so carelessly said to be interpreted as reflective of my character. I meant no harm and deeply regret ever uttering those words.”
